Satoru Murata

Born in Hokkaido, Japan, with a background in astrophysics (B.S., Kyoto University), music publishing (Rittor Music, Inc., Tokyo, Japan), anthropology (B.A., SUNY Stony Brook), and Maya archaeology (Ph.D., Boston University), Satoru is also a photographer focusing on landscape photography from around the world. Satoru spends much time photographing landscapes in the US southwest, where he currently resides, but also in Belize, Central America, where he conducts research on the ancient Maya, Iceland, a country for which he has profound love, his home country of Japan, which he visits at least once a year, and anywhere he has the fortune to travel to.
